Description:
The early excavations of the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ at the site of the Temple of Hera high above the Argive plain revealed antiquities from two distinct periods; fragmentary temple architecture and sculpture of the 5th century B.C. (including a fine head, presumed to be Hera herself) and a mass of Archaic terracottas, bronzes, ivories, gold rosettes, and coins (probably debris from the destruction of the first temple on the site).
